Frequently Asked Questions:

What's included in your wedding photography packages?
All packages include a pre wedding consult, my time on your wedding day ( I won't ever double book or send another photographer), an online proof gallery with the ability to purchase prints directly from there, ready to print digital negatives on a DVD enclosed in a custom case.

When should the photo shoot be held?
If tradition isn't too important, then it makes sense to do it before the ceremony. Your make up is fresh, you're excited about what lies ahead and you'll have more time to mingle with all of your guests after the ceremony. If you don't want your groom to see you in your dress before the wedding ceremony you have two options.
Get as many shots on the list out of the way separately. The bride and her family, bridesmaids, etc. in the location they are getting ready. The same with the groom and his family, groomsmen, etc.
Or, if due to weather or scheduling conflicts, schedule about an hour (plus travel time if necessary) to shoot all photos between the ceremony and reception. Shoot with family members first, then bridal party, then dismiss people as they have been photographed. It helps to let guests know ahead of time where they need to be. After everyone has left, it'll be time to shoot just the new husband and wife!

What do I wear?
Mostly black! I try to blend in as much as possible. A black button down shirt, black dress pants and shoes. If it's going to be extremely hot, I opt for a golf shirt and lightweight khakis, but mostly stick to the black uniform.

What type of equipment do you use?
I use all Canon professional digital camera bodies and lenses. There's always backups on hand to make sure that even if something breaks, I'll still be able to continue shooting without missing a beat. There's only one chance to make photos of a wedding day and it shouldn't be missed because of broken equipment.

What happens with the photos after the wedding?
Often thousands of images are shot at a wedding. I'll edit them down to between 500 to 700 images, post those photos online (where they can be viewed and purchased by family and friends), burn to a DVD and send it directly to you. The photos are high res, logo free images that you can use to make as many prints as you wish, post online, etc.

Can you do wedding albums?
All wedding albums are custom designed, printed on beautiful archival paper, wrapped with 100% full grain natural leather, and delivered in a patterned cloth bag. They are very high quality albums that will last a lifetime. They are available in three different sizes and a variety of different colors. Sample wedding album albums are available for you to see before booking a package.
After the wedding day has passed, and you receive your disk of photos we'll work together to pick out between 20 to 30 photos to start designing the album. More or less photos can be worked in from there. Many of the photos will be touched up and post production will be applied. A .pdf proof will be sent via e–mail or a hard copy via regular mail. Once the final selections have been made and the design finalized, it will typically take 8 to 10 weeks for your album to be delivered.

Can you make us prints?
Absolutely. Print packages can be worked out at a discount before the wedding day. Wrapped canvas prints can be purchased from the online store.

How did you get into wedding photography?
Honestly, I didn't set out to be a wedding photographer. I graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2002 and immediately took a job with an action sports magazine. I was fortunate enough to get to travel around the world shooting surfing. As I got to the age when many of my friends were getting married, a few of them asked if I'd be interested in shooting their weddings and I obliged. It was something I really enjoyed doing and after shooting their friends and friends of friends I realized it was something I'd like to pursue.

Do you have references?
Sure do. Just ask and I can send you contact information for couples whom I've photographed in the past.

Is your business insured?
Sure is. All of my photography equipment is fully covered as well as full liability insurance. Many reception venues need proof of insurance from outside vendors and that's not a problem.

How about engagement photos?
Sure. They're a great chance for us to get to know each other since we'll be spending up to eight hours together on the wedding day. An engagement session usually lasts about two hours and can be shot at several locations. The high res, print ready images will be burned to a disk for you to make prints, send to family and friends or use for save the dates, invitations, etc.
